A hot spring inn nestled in the mountains that I’d visited several times as a child. Guided by a sense of nostalgia, I arrived at the inn only to find it already empty of guests and on the verge of closing. I was greeted by the innkeeper and his daughter, Moe—a girl with a somewhat mysterious air about her , a girl whose thoughts were impossible to fathom. As memories of the past resurfaced, the distance between them closed quietly but surely.
