I have only photographed Nana Maeno a few times, yet she requested that her retirement work be filmed here. I believe she wanted to end her career on her own terms, in a way that she could be satisfied with.I see the tough shoots she’s done in AV as a form of “training” for her personal growth. Through this final shoot, I want to confront her life and imbue this work with some universality. This is Maeno Nana’s retirement work, but I also want it to be a graduation celebration for all AV actresses. To all the AV actresses known as “Kikatan,” who have worked hard through tough shoots, healed users’ hearts with their smiles, and retired anonymously, I want to say, “Thank you.”
