Movie Information:
A pimp-like mother and her dutiful daughter. My mother’s mind, tormented, beaten, and worn down by my father almost every day, had long since been shattered by the time the divorce was finalized. While I could only cry and cling to her, what saved my mother was a club I joined after being introduced by a friend. I felt relieved seeing my mother’s face grow brighter with each visit, but as she became increasingly obsessed with the group’s activities, our household finances grew increasingly strained. Then one day, my mother bowed her head and begged me, saying she absolutely needed it, so I gave my virginity to a stranger in exchange for money. I can’t remember much of it because of the pain and tears, but I convinced myself that if it would save my mother, and if it was just this once, it would be okay. A few months later, my mother bowed her head again, looking apologetic. “With this money, let’s finally be happy together this time.” Hugging me, my mother clutched the money she’d received and walked out, leaving me behind. As I watched her back, the man I’d just met ran his hands all over my body. “There’s no other way, is there, Mom?” My mother didn’t look back once; she simply closed the door and walked away. When the girl who had killed her own feelings for the sake of her family and was merely enduring the passing of time finally succumbed to the man’s relentless assault, moans and sobs poured out of her.
