After completing seven years of service with the Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers abroad, the young man returned to Tokyo temporarily. He visited his uncle and aunt, who lived in an apartment in the city, to greet them upon his return. “Aunt Nami in Tokyo,” whom he hadn’t seen in seven years, was still the same beautiful and intelligent woman she had always been. “It’s been a long time. Thank you for coming.” Thanks to his uncle and aunt’s kindness, the young man was allowed to stay the night.
